WebI know megatexture, it's been used since Doom 3. Something just feels amiss with DE and its optimization.Doom 3 megatextures are fan made not official. I think the first game to officially have Megatextures implementation was Enemy Territory: Quake Wars which was implemented in a modified version of Idtech 4 engine. However its my bad anyways. WebNo, the compression of the in-game music isn't any worse than it was in Doom 2016, or in most games. If you're referring to the thing everyone is complaining about, that is the mixing of the soundtrack release. The decrease in file size is primarily because idtech 7 no longer uses megatextures like idtech 6 does.
